This is my Gibson Hummingbird 07 played through an AER Compact 60 mk2 Amp. This will hopefully give you an idea of how it sounds. The sound is quite bright but thats how i Eq’d the AER as it gives it a nice punch.

Hi I was considering getting a new amp and I keep hearing tube amps are the best so when I go on guitar center.com i look up Marshall (ik its a good name) tube amp and tube amp head pop up. Is a tube amp head a tube amp. Im confused can someone just explain heads, cabinets and combinations. And what would you say is a good but not overpriced tube amp

OK.. The long and the short of it is this. A tube head IS a tube amp just one part of it!
You have the head, which contains all the pre amp stages, the electronics and tubes, or, if you get a solid state amp, it’ll just have the electronics in it and one tube.
The cabinet is what the head sits on and contains the speakers (either 2 or 4 of them) this combination of head and cabinet is your amplifier as a whole.

Next on the list is a combo. This is just a "combination" of the head circuitry and the speakers in one package!

As for tubes being the best and what is the best tube amp..That’s pretty much a matter of taste! I’ve played through quite a few different amps, and some heads are better than combo’s and vice versa. I would suggest that you physically go to a guitar/ amplifier store (preferably with your own guitar as your guitar will definitely sound different to the ones they have in the store) and play through as many amps as you can in your price range!

All amps models.. even ones built by the same manufacturers, although built to the the same standard will sound slightly different. This is where going to the store with your own guitar (and cables if you want to?) will be your best bet as you can get an amp that you think sounds killer, and you know it will sound the same when you take it home!

I have a vox amp a VERY clean sounded amp. Its the Vox AC (something) lol. I know the cleaner the amp the BETTER it is for a high gained distortion pedal
(Because the amp doesn’t have that much gain to begin with obviously)

So i was wondering what is the BEST distortion (or high gained) pedal for a tube amp.

For tube amps only (No solid state digital stuff)

Thank you =]

Okay, you obviously don’t know much.

The reason your amp sounds so clean is because it’s so high power (wattage), you’d have to crank it up to ear-bleed levels to get some half-decent overdrive from it.

Secondly: all pedals work on all amps. There’s no such thing as a pedal for solid-state amps etc.

Third: ‘gain’ just means ‘amplification’ or ‘volume’. Just because your amp doesn’t break up by itself does not mean you need a Boss Metalzone.

Now: I would recommend a Tubescreamer if you could get any natural overdrive from your amp, but since you can’t, you might want to look at something like a Boss DS-1 or a ProCo Rat, depending on what tone you’re after. Also seriously consider getting some sort of boost or compressor pedal.

I don’t like all of the guitar effects on GarageBand ‘08 (I’m talking about effects like "Super Fuzz" and "English Channel"). Is there anyway to download more of them off of the internet?

Thanks

check 4 it at pspiso.com, shareiso.com & paulpbaker.com. its hard to find something on pspiso.com. so, look 4 your accounts name and on top or under it, there should be a search button.
by the way, u need to create your own account first.

They are fairly identical. If I had to pick one it would be the Frontman. I think it has a slightly better speaker.

Is there a special acoustic guitar for acoustic guitar with amps?

Esteban makes electric acoustic guitars. You can get a whole kit with the guitar, amp and learn to play dvds for a decent price.
