I play alot of acoustic and electric guitar but i dont have the money for 2 amps. I dont use much distortion either. Just a little bit of chorus and reverb or delay. What is the best amp for the price?

Modelling Amps do get a lot of tones very close; and they’re ideal for direct recording. I’m more of an analog person myself. I think that the Fender Acoustisonic Amp is the best for acoustic. You could keep your current amp, or get like a cheap Fender Bassman copy (eg MRW co.). The Rivera Sedona is known as ‘The World’s first Electric/Acoustic amp’ (and still considered best); since 2001. They have a 12 or 15" JBL speaker, also a high-power Dome-Tweeter; with reverb controls, anti-feedback etc. Was named ‘Amp of the year’ by Musician Magazine. They said it’s ”The best Electric-Acoustic Amp ever made’, so I’m guessing there’s other companies who make them.

I would get a modelling amp. These amplifiers take your guitar signal, turn it into computer code (sampling) and then use its built-in computer to add effects. At the end of the chain there is a digital-to-analog decoder that sends it to your amplifier section.

While these don’t nail the tones 100% some of them are unbelievably close. I’ve actually used both the originals in most cases and the simulations. They’re going to get you by.

This is suprisingly good – but most companies make something to fit the market. I suggest trying them out and using their ears. The new Fenders sound impressive.
