Would be very handy in the studio for stacking rhythm tracks without all the hiss fizz and noise. The pedal has tributes to all the classic stompboxes like the ProCo Rat, Tubescreamer, Big Muff Pi, Tone Bender MK II, Dallas Arbiter Fuzzface, Marshall and Boogie preamp tones, and more. Also has 6 presets and a graphic EQ…all in all, and very handy tool!

http://www.lovepedal.com the Purple Plexi-800 from Love Pedal is a sweet, high gain, marshall style overdrive. Very cool for what it is…simple and rockin! I used a Gibson SG and a Dr Z MAZ 18 210 combo amplifier for the review.

What is good for guitar effects?

What would be best for me to get for guitar effects, which is reasonably priced because I am not a pro I just like playing for fun. I would just play direct into what ever I get and plug headphones directly in since I cannot make a lot of noise where I live.

I would suggest a good multi effects pedal like the zoomG1X It has a multitude of good sounding effects, a headphone output, and many other useful features and costs about as much as a single pedal (I got one for $80). I am a professional musician and instructor and I use this pedal quite a bit for basic jam sessions, recording, rehearsal, etc.
