This is my #1 gigging amp. It is pure amp and nothing like the reissues. This amp has a lot of headroom and you really need a Tube Screamer to get this amp to go into overdrive. If you were going to buy one vintage amp, this would be the one, the Holy Grail. I will demo it on my next videos. Watch the Bandmaster video first. Disclaimer: I don’t play this amp in this video but I do have several videos playing this amp. Look at all of my videos.

I think it is the ” …
I think it is the “I’m bad. I’m a veteran of the road and I’ll kick anyone’s a##” attitude the old beat up amps give off. They look like they should not work but amaze people when they hear them. A lot of the old great bands would have these old beat up, cigarette burned Tweeds stacked on stage and just sound amazing. That’s the Mojo.

My 1963 Tele is the …
My 1963 Tele is the closest thing I have to humbuckers since it has more output but I would love to get my hands on a 335. Leo WAS a genius, yes. It’s amazing how well these old amps have held up for so many years.
I would also love …
I would also love to try a vintage 335 through my reissue bassman but i hope to get my hands on a Tele soon.A match made in Heaven.I,m also a big fan of Johnny Winter keep those videos coming Leo Fender was a genius.
I’m not trying to …
I’m not trying to waste anyone’s time which I see is a YouTube tactic. I’m just an old guitar player trying to put a little info on YouTube. Look at all of my videos. There are several where I play this amp exclusively and a few where I use it when we opened for Johnny Winter. Please take a look if you have time.
Ha ha. You didn’t …
Ha ha. You didn’t suck me in.
I clicked past all the talking.
Yep.
Didn’t play one note.
You didn’t waste MY time, dude.
I just checked out …
I just checked out the Bassman cranked and it was still clean. Amazing! It had some dirt but it was mainly loud and clean. I’ve decided my next video will be a shoot out between all of the amps to see which one is the loudest and coolest sounding. That ought to be fun. I won’t turn up the Blonde Piggyback Bassman too much because it still has an original speaker cone but I bet it still kicks all the other one’s butts. Keep watching. The shoot out will be coming soon.
Okay. You guys …
Okay. You guys asked for it. I have been thinking what I could do next. Cranking them sounds like fun. I hope my neighbors can tolerate. They have tolerated a bunch over the years. The crank video will be soon but I might have to wait until next weekend.

I want to hear your bassman cranked to 7!
The Tele has a …
The Tele has a great tone on anything. The pickups just have more punch than the Strat pickups but the Strats are more comfortable. I really have gotten a kick out of the comments. I did not know this would be this much fun. Check out the videos I just uploaded. The Tweed Bassman’s instrument channed went dead the other day. I explain how I fixed it. Tubes are 95% of the problems in these amps.
Yeah, my brother …
Yeah, my brother had a 335 and a 60’s Super reverb. Quite the dream team right there.
Next to the bassman and a vintage tele or strat of course.
But those two different setups side by side with a couple of players is absolutely killer. Anyways, I have enjoyed your videos.
I would love a …
I would love a vintage ES-335. That would be my next guitar choice but they are so expensive. Hopefully I will get one soon but it is most likely just a dream right now.
thanx for the …
thanx for the lessons! I am just starting 2 learn bout this, looking 4 ward to heard the amps that do have reverb, I am not a fan of dry tone, so i hope u turn that reverb way up soon.
The 66 Super reverb …
The 66 Super reverb would sound amazing with an ES-335 Gibson hollowbody. I still would take the Bassman over it. Nice collection!
don’t remove the …
don’t remove the asbestos! it kills the resale value!
Thanks. I have …
Thanks. I have never tried a 5751. I have a NOS 6072 GE 5 Star in it now. I take it the 5751 has more gain than the 6072. I also use it for harp and guitar at the same time so the 5751 might be too much in that situation but I will certainly try to locate one.
