I am actually going to look at buying one myself. I got a huge crate 33tube watt and while it sounds fine and dandy I just dont like the tone and warming the thing up.

That first distorted tone has an AC/DC sense about it…. I like that amp. How do you think it would handle classic rock?

    Excellent review …
Excellent review and amp. I own a forest green VHT Pitbull 45 2 by 10 by 112 combo that is really the best amp I’ve ever owned. Anyone viewing this for the purpose of researching VHT Amplification should know that the primary designer now operates his own company known as Fryette Amplification where the quality continues. What you are viewing here is not currently being built by VHT.

Fryette does make the CL series pitbulls, which the combo reviewed here is similar to. The ST series are EL84 amps and are, as you say, not produced anymore. ;)

I have the head version, (50st), thank you for posting a quality demo of this amp. Your combo sounds great!

Fryette does NOT make this amp anymore. If you find one GRAB it!

    Hey dude, cant say …
Hey dude, cant say that I do! In reality, no pedal is ever going to match the sound of a full blown tube amp! But you can get a pleasing crunch from the Xotic AC+, expensive but definitely very good.

    hey good review man …
hey good review man. I absolutely love VHT and would recommend them to anyone. I play a G100 pittbull through a mesa cab and a budda 2×12 CB. (good guitar helped too, i play a custom24) but this is without a doubt the best sounding amp i have found for any style of metal. Recommend VHT to anyone wanting that Bite with overwhelmingly great tone!
