Exactly. And I happen to have the exact same amp he’s using…..you cannot crank that 60/100 watts. It’s crazy loud and I never turn it past 10 o’clock
@XxxxxJamesxxxX …
@XxxxxJamesxxxX depends what amp you have … if you have a beefy valve amp just turn the volume wayy up with a little bit of distortion and you will find you get a much thicker tone than loads of distortuion. Try it sometime its good. He is useless though coz he had NO volume x]

the point of a boost pedal is to boost the signal. If you want to boost the overdrive, use it before distortions, if you want to increase tone and volume, use it after
I never criticised the way you use your gear, i was just refering to how they were designed to be used, hence i said “usually”.
And your gear will only sing better than someone elses if you are a better player

I defenately use my boost early in my chain, because it SOUNDS better.
Say whatever you want, but my gear will always sing nicer than yours

low gain pedals …
low gain pedals should always come before high gain (not including boost pedals which usually go at the end of an effects chain)
… In your opinion …
… In your opinion. Be respectful for other people, man.
he’s got it …
he’s got it completely backwards. Whatever you do last affects your tone more. If you have a heavy driven overdrive and then try to “boost” the signal with a light overdrive behind it, it just craps out the tone. use it in front of the already overdriven pedal and crank the volume and turn the gain all the way down… it gives your overdrive a clean boost that makes your tone thick and beefy instead of weak and wimpy.
If this guy were to …
If this guy were to need a metal tone, he would buy 100 of those pedals and engage them all, and then he would find out that he could just turn the gain up on the pedal.

Ok ds1 might be the best pedal you have ever owned but at least stock its one of the worst pedals that ever existed. Do the keeley mod if you can, its not excellent but much better
