    haha not really man …
haha not really man, depending on ur gear, some notes can become somewhat muted to a degree. The CS-3 just equals out the output by “compressing” what’s coming out so it all sounds level from the comp and strong from the added gain.

    Complain all you …
Complain all you want, but for those who really don’t understand what a compressor does, this is very useful and informative. Granted, the video should be called “what a compressor does” not “how to use”.

  • cmgill2 says:

It will also act as …
It will also act as a limiter, it’s useful if you have an amp that is too clean for your likeing, turn up the sustain a bit and turn the level down, it gives a nice smooth sustain without distortion.

  • zqmbfg says:

    do people use this …
do people use this for solos with a lot of distortion?

  • settingfiretogiants says:

    When playing a LOT, …
When playing a LOT, especially live, i dont want my guitar when i’m not using it to make any noise whatsoever, so every time i’m not playing, i turn down.

He’s so used to turning down when he isn’t playing, its force of habit.

  • settingfiretogiants says:

    like he said, to …
like he said, to have everything heard.

If you have your playing down perfectly, and all your small nuances and handmovements arent right, you’ll hear all of them, but if you have it down perfect, and everything rings out nicely, it will sound a lot more full
