I’ve been wanting to build a tube amp for a while. I had discussed this with a good friend of mine, Kevin Shaw (from Shaw Amps) and we figured it would be fun to design an amp together.
This is the result… a brownface meets blackface deluxe type of circuit. Very beefy, takes pedals well, and extremely tweakable.

Hey guys !
In this demo I wanted to show you what kind of tone I achieved from this VERY, VERY, VERY cheap and simple Guitar gear Setup.
The guitar I´m using is A Dearmond M65, Probably the cheapest copy of a Les paul style guitar. It has two stock humbucker pickups, nothing fancy about but still fat and nice sounding pups.
The amp is a Roland Bolt 60 wich is a 60 watts All tube powered 6L6 Based amp. I almost paid nothing for this amp I got it very very cheap. I´ve seen alot of them Sold for a tiny amount of cash.
But I think It has a great tone, fat tube tone
Besides the Guitar and Amp the only effect I´m using is a Boss DD3 delay pedal.
So this Demo Involves some very very simple guitar equipment but I still think it sounds decent.
I´ve got myself a crappy camrecorder so you can see me now
The sound is recorded by a very very cheap microphone aswell
LOW BUDGET HERE I COME hehe
Sorry for my crappy playing in this one though
What do You think ?
Take care !

http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=2160000400 The new version of the Supersonic from Fender now has a 6V6 tube power amp section. Based on the Deluxe Reverb power section, it has a very clean tone paired with an ultra smooth overdrive tone…sounds like an advertisement, no? Well…it ain’t! I just thought everyone should hear the tones this bad boy can get.

This is a 1979 Dumble Overdrive Deluxe combo amp.
It’s an amalgamation of all the ingredients that parallel the Overdrive Special, which is thought by many guitarists to be the ultimate ‘Holy Grail’ of guitar amps.
Essentially this amp is a Fender Deluxe Reverb chassis with custom circuits by Dumble to achieve an other worldly overdrive tone.
This amp is very rare and is one of only 2-3 known Overdrive Deluxes built by Dumble.
It is the only Overdrive Deluxe (and one of only a handful of Dumble amps) to have reverb and tremolo which possibly makes it one of a kind.
The audio was recorded by an internal mic in an inexpensive digital camera, but sounds remarkably good for what it is.
In person, this amp is absolutely stunning when overdriven, and has the most luscious tremolo and reverb you are likely to hear.

This amp gets some great sounds using a strat or a 335 straight into amp with no pedals. The volume in the room was very loud though. The brightness switch is always ON for that glassy fender sound. The Celestion Vintage 30 speaker sounds noticeably smoother after it has had some time to break-in. I sped up the process by connecting the speaker directly to a 400w mono QSC power amp and played the local R&B/Rap radio station through it for about 8 hours at a safe volume. When I got home from work and reconnected the speaker, it sounded fantastic.
The overdrive settings starting at 1:30 were:
(Channel 1)
Gain: 8
Volume: 2
Treble, Bass, Middle all three set to: 5
Boost: OFF
Presence: 6
Reverb: 5
Stock tubes were replaced with ‘early breakup’ set (see below) of JJ Electronic Eurotubes:

Traynor YCV40 – High gain option.
A pair of the JJ 6L6GC’s along with three hand picked high gain ECC83S’s with one of them being balanced for the phase inverter in V3. For you players who need a little more edge! These are fixed bias amps so please use the comments box before checking out to let me know if your after max headroom, middle of the road, or an earlier breakup from the clean channel so I can pick the proper grade for the power tubes.
The 335 humbuckers were a DiMarzio Air Norton in the bridge and a Gibson ‘57 Classic in the neck. The strat was a mahogany Fender American Select Stratocaster HSS with a Diamondback humbucker and two Tex-Mex single-coils.
