Buy the Blues Deluxe here… http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Guitar-Amplifiers-and-Speakers/Guitar-Amps-Combos-and-Cabinets/Guitar-Combos/sc1585/p3414.aspx Think Fender and for most people a Strat or Telecaster will come to mind, but let’s not forget they also have a history for making some of the finest amps on the planet. Just as Fender got it right first time with their two iconic guitars, the same has to be said of their amps. It’s amazing that in a world brimming with technology and miniature gadgets galore, that no one has come up with a better formula for amplifying guitars than the good old valve. It’s little wonder then that Fender offer a range of brilliant reissues from the ’50s and ’60s. Here we have the tweed covered Blues Deluxe.

This combo weighs in at 45lbs and is solidly constructed. Height is 18.75″ width 23.5″ and Depth 10.5″. There are three 12AX7 and two 6L6 valves plus a solid state rectifier. One 12″ Eminence special Fender design 50 Watt speaker delivers the sound. There are two channels, superb vintage Fender clean and the bluesey drive channel with a host of features.

Independent Gain and Master Control’s for the drive channel. A bright switch, effects loop, reverb, presence, middle, bass, treble, drive select button, drive, volume and further bright switch. Finally the power and standby switches. All mounted on a highly polished chrome panel with retro looking chicken head knobs. This amp is capable of producing the classic Fender clean tone and punchy blues rock sounds with ease. Comes with channel footswitch.

I feel if your toying with the idea of an affordable classic Fender style gigging combo, you’ll find no better match than with the Blues Deluxe. Just add a couple of your favourite pedals for a great set up. Highly recommended by players the world over.

The Fender Mustang III is a 100-watt open-backed combo with a 12″ Celestion speaker that utilises modeling software technology to re-create classic Fender, UK and other popular US amplifier models. It contains 100 amp presets derived from 12 different amp models, delivering tones from vintage Fender sparkle to contemporary metal distortion, and 37 different effects in four categories (stomp, modulation, delay and reverb) that can be accessed at the push of a button …

With a power rating of 100 watts the Fender Mustang III covers pretty much all bases and is loud enough for rehearsals and gigs whilst the 1/8″ headphone input doubles as speaker-emulated line out. First test made with an Orange Tiny Terror 15W all tube amp driving an Orange cabined loaded with a Celestion V30. The guitar used is a Charvel mod 6 with Floyd Rose and a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck humbucker. I used an 8ch preamplifier: ELBERG MP8. The test is done with: GrooveTubes a1, Shure SM57, Sennheiser e906 and MD421. No compression or EQ has been used whatsoever. AD converters from a MOTU 8pre.

Ps. The 57, the e906 and one of the a1 are at the same distance from the center of the cone (something around middle way between center and edge). The other a1 is at the center and the MD421 is on the edge of the speaker.
These positions are ones I like best from each mic.

Buy Trace Elliot here… http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/search.aspx?keywords=trace%20elliott

Trace Elliot have used their proprietary technology that is usually deployed creating pristine clean bass tones and adapted it to produce the TA-200 acoustic combo amplifier, the 200 watt two-channel amplifier uses 4 specially designed Neo-dymium Celestion 5″ speakers which are wired together in stereo pairs. There are several features which enhance the sound and performance of the TA-200, firstly each channel has gain and notch filter rotary controls along with built-in auto-compression and a “Shape” switch for instant auto-EQ …

To boost the volume of the amplifier there’s a 6 band graphic equaliser with feedback illimination on each band of the EQ – illuminating LED’s provide a visual indication of where the feedback is occuring. Channel 1 has a variety of digital effects including chorus, phaser, flanger or delay including a stereo ping-pong effect. There’s a foot-switchable Master volume and MUTE switch along with a send and return for an external tuner.

The Trace Elliot TA-200 has inputs for jack or balanced XLR and Channel two also has Phantom Power available should you wish to connect a condenser microphone, there’s even a phase switch to assist with feedback control – all of which culminates in the fact that the TA-200 provides a wealth of features to ensure that you get the optimum sound from your acoustic instrument … Check out the Trace Elliot TA-200 Acoustic Combo now at the Nevada Music Warehouse

A great amp, even if too modern oriented for my taste (and not creamy at all in power stage saturation, it work mostly on pre as a lot of modern amps). It can go from ultra clean tones from extremely saturated one without any stomp. Recorded with a mic on a open back cab (mic on back) with Celestion Greenback speaker. Guitar is a Yamaha 812v and i used for check difference from single coil tones (with 2 Seymour Duncan Vintage Staggered, a classic strat tone) and the humbucking (a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck).
