http://www.premierguitar.com PG’s Joe Coffey is On Location in Van Nuys, CA, for the 2009 LA Amp Show where he visits the Fender area. In this video segment, we get to see and hear from Fender’s little ‘57 Champ.
The ‘57 Champ is a small but mighty tone machine crafted within the their ‘57 Tweed series. It is an all-tube 5 watt comb with a 8″ Weber Alnico speaker. It features a 6V6GT power tube, 12AX7 preamp tube and 5Y3GT rectifier tube. It is covered in the traditional lacquered tweed and is hand-wired with two inputs. This little tone monster has been used by Eric Clapton, Johnny Cash, Keith Richards and countless others during recording sessions.

This is the stock version, with my http://www.kingbeeguitars.com relic telecaster and http://www.jaguaramplification.com JAGUAR TWIN amplifier. This over-drive has a boost switch, and a bunch of other options you can select with switches….totally happenin’ little box of grooviness.

This is a video response, created for the TTK & Line6 September give-away. This video contains my opinion about the topic “digital modeling vs. tube amps“. Although it was created for the “competition”, it could be a big help for any guitarist, who is new to amplification. The backing track is a piece of music I recorded about a year ago. Enjoy!

http://www.premierguitar.com PG’s Pat Smith walks us through the Phil Jones AAD CUB AG-100 & Super CUB AG-300 amps. The CUB AG-100’s comes in a quaint little package (6.5″ x 12.5″ x 11.8″) that features a single channel with 100 watts, 2×5″ neodymium speakers and controls including, (Treble, Mid, Bass, Volume). The Super CUB AG-300 (the CUB AG-100’s big brother) comes with 250 watts of power and features four forward firing 5″ Neo drivers and two additional speakers that point upward. The controls are Bass, Mid, Treble, FX Blend and Master Volume.
