I am looking to buy an ampeg bass amp and I am most interested in the BA115 series. I was just wondering are those amps tube amps?

No.

But they are very good solid state combo amps.

I had one and used it for about 8 years until I sold it to a friend.

They sound best when you really know how to tweak the low-mid range.

I used to run my bass through a BA115 with a BA112 – splitting the signal with an A/B box and I actually liked the sound of the 112 better, but together I was able to get the best of both worlds.

Several models of that BA115…all solid state!

Very few tube amps out there anymore!

Sorry…correction, the BA115HPT does have a tube preamp!
