im not familiar with that exact amp. but let me tell you this from experience. i had a 50 watt spider 3 line 6 amp. i was really suspicious because first, all of the electronics were in one mainframe at the top in the back, like an onboard computer. also there was no back. so its likes dropping a computer, the computers gonna break. well thats essentially what happened to mine. i didnt drop it but it shorted out. so unless uve got a warranty, dont buy a line 6 product. hope that helps :)

It’s funny because tubes distort gently, so even when you’ve got really loud clean tones, there’s probably a bit of distortion in there that you can’t hear, softening the tone a bit. Solid state amps can give you some spectacular clean tones, with really snappy response, tube amps, even when running really clean can tend to be a bit ’softer’ feeling.

    hmmm… so …
hmmm… so basically the primary reason for the popularity of tube amps is because of distortion. how about other factors like clean sounds and pedal compatibility? which is better?

How does a tube amp with digital effects sound? For example Line 6 Spider Valve MkII? Are the tubes just a trick to sell the amp or is it worth the money?

Tubes are great, but transistors, good transistores, are great too. I think they play different “championships”. But of course I can’t get form all SS and VS amps I tryed, that distorted/overdriven tone and colours, like tube do. And from my money, thats not possible to take it also from digital amps. The feeling is different.

    Keep on the good work
All the best from Portugal ;)

well, i liked the video, but i have do desagree in on point. I are making it sound like tubes are better than transistores. Thats not that linear, tubes are great, I love their sound when overdriven. I love their tone. But all tube amps i’ve tryed can’t reach my old 1980 solid state made in usa peavey amp when we’re talking about clean sound, about jazzy sound, response to slaps giving some extremely clean and full sound. They are some different stuff.

@musiluna Ive had a hotrod deluxe for a little over a year. I play mainly blues and i love it. It can be quiet enough for bedroom use, but can get loud enough for gigs without even cranking the amp all that hard. It is super clean, and has a good headroom. Really just a great amp for the price
